Friday night I got a call from Ryan and Bry and they came and picked me up for the Moose game. The game itself was pretty bad. It was 2-0 Moose as soon as we got there, barely 5 minutes in, and then there wasn’t another goal all game. Just whistle after whistle. Then with 5 mins left Josh Holden(1) takes a bad penalty and Saint Johns scores to come within one. They end up pulling the goalie, tieing the game and winning in OT. Yuck. Regardless thanks for the game Rye.

Saturday I slept hard, got up and got ready for hockey. Now I need to discuss Nolans write-up for Saturdays game because I need to clarify a few things about my performance that afternoon. I believe his quote was “I would rather lose with Peever, than win with Johnny”(2). What he forgets to include here is that he did win with Peever regardless and that just minutes after Johnny started the scoring Peever came out on his next shift and evened the score with a beauty over the right shoulder on Tony O. He then goes on about how I’ve lost a step and then fails to mention that I went in on two breakaways beating the defence both times with pure speed and adrenaline. Backchecking could have been better but we were double shifting the forwards all game so it was tougher than normal. Ratty and I were a phenom out there so I have no idea what Nolan was drinking when he posted this weekend. Saturday night went to Steves housewarming party. Really nice place.

Sunday I went to Erin’s grandma’s place for a great dinner and then Amber, Erin and I took in “Boo at the Zoo”. They really have the ZOO part right in the name. I went to pick up the tickets from Al who came through for us by getting them at Safeway and the plan was to meet Amber, Kelly, Erin and Taylor at the front gate. Well when I got there it took me at least half an hour to find illegal parking there. The place was literally…a zoo. The kids were all dolled up. Erin was a cat and Taylor was a witch. They had a good time but we skipped so much cool stuff simply because the line-ups were huge and everyone was cold. They need to restrict each night to less people and maybe extend it another week or something. We all had a good time and the kids were up pretty late so they thought that was cool. We stopped for some hot chocolate and called it a night. Amber asked me to take Erin trick or treating on Wednesday so she can hand out candy. Only 2 more sleeps.

(1) – Josh Holden only played one season for the Moose in 2001-02 where he had 33pts in 68 games. I have no idea how he made this blog.

(2) – Nolan and I have since become very accustomed to losing together but back then we were gods.
